The Sustainability Code is the system of the wine industry in Chile provides a measurement tool for various sustainable practices throughout the value chain of wine making and has been developed by the Technological Wine Consortiums (technical branch of Wines of Chile) in conjunction with the University of Talca. The code is part of the Comprehensive Sustainability Program of Wines of Chile that represents a set of initiatives and projects to install sustainability in the Chilean wine industry. This program is administered by the Technological Wine Consortiums joined with the best Chilean universities. This program responds to the first need for innovation determined by the Chilean wine industry, Sustainability, which is understood as the convergence of production processes that are environmental, socially equitable and economically viable.
